Matthew John Nelson, 47, of Caledonia, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 20, 2025. Matty enjoyed boxing, winning the golden glove championship when he was 16 years old. He graduated from Caledonia High School. He had a super sense of humor, making everyone laugh who enjoyed his company. He spent 7 years living in Hawaii with his family and worked many different jobs in his lifetime.
He will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Rick and Renee Nelson; children: Anthony Nelson, Azarah Nelson and their mother, Chele Humphrey; sister, Christina (Ryan) Mills; nieces and nephews: Monica Mills, Dominic Mills, Bella Mills; grandparents, George and Gloria Jenkins, Roger Unger; many aunts and uncles, including Mick and Tammy; and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his special uncle, George “Feen” Jenkins.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Simple Traditions Funeral Home, 3131 Division Ave S, Wyoming. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 5-7 p.m. and Friday an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the family to help defray funeral expenses.
