Kenneth Layton McPeck II, age 74, of Wyoming, MI, passed away unexpectedly Monday, August 25, 2025. He will be remembered by his loving wife, Saritta; children, Justin, Dawn (Jean-Luc), Alyson, Aubrey, Jessica, Deidre (Joe); grandchildren, Montana (Michael), Emma (Josh), Chloe (Wade), Jeanluc, Maggie, and other grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Harry, Jerry; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Charlotte; mother-in-law, Phyllis Walker; sister, Robin; brothers, Carl, Leonard; nephew, Brad; and sister-in-law, Karen. Kenneth was drafted into the United States Army for active duty, though he was never deployed. He went on to build a long and dedicated career with General Motors, retiring as a Millwright. Family was the center of his life, and he was deeply involved in his grandchildren’s lives—his beloved Maggie always said he was the best Papa ever. He had many beloved dogs, Homer, Dalynn, and Taz; as well as his arch nemesis, Ollie. Kenneth had many passions, including hunting and handcrafting wood furniture pieces with care and skill. He also enjoyed spending weekends watching Dale Earnhardt race in NASCAR, cheering with enthusiasm. His life was filled with love, family, and the simple joys of the things he loved most. Cremation has taken place. Per Kenneth’s wishes no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the West Michigan Veteran’s Assistance Program in honor of Kenneth.
