Scott Henry Smith, age 65, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. He was welcomed and reunited with his parents, Lyle Smith Sr. and Clythene Piper, along with other beloved family members who passed before him. He will be remembered by his wife, Christine; his children, Dannielle, Jennifer, Devin and Thomas; siblings; Lyleen, Lyle Jr., Debbie, and Clyde; grandchildren; Malik, Arieanna, Kailah, Shaelinn; and many extended family members and friends. Scott, though a complicated man, will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, hard work, and love for music, fishing and hunting. He wasn’t perfect, but he did his best for his family — and gave freely to others, sometimes
Scott-free. His generous spirit and love for people will live on in all who knew him. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no formal service. The family asks for prayers and warm thoughts during this difficult time. Scott’s passing leaves a great emptiness in the lives of his loved ones.
