Joseph Lee Shaver, 89, of Vestaburg, Michigan peacefully passed away on October 30, 2026, after spending an evening with his loving family.
A proud and honorable patriot, Joe bravely served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
Joe was a man of loyalty, integrity, and warmth. He was happiest when hunting, fishing and spending time with family.
He was a beloved husband and is survived by his wife, Betty of 52 years; his loving children, Joseph Funk (Janette), Robert Bell, Susanna Griffin, Vevah Carey (Kip), Judy Zentner (Mark), Sandy Farlow (David), Melissa Shaver, Jody Johnson (Bobby) and Raymond Shaver; his cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his devoted brother, David Shaver; as well as many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Sara Shaver; his three beloved sons, Jeffrey Griffin, Michael Shaver and Steven Shaver; brothers, Jr. Shaver and Richard Shaver whose memories he carried closely in his heart every day.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 13th, 2026, at 1:00 pm with a funeral service to follow celebrating his life including military honors at 2:00 pm at Simple Traditions Funeral Home, 3131 Division Ave. Wyoming, Michigan.
