In Loving Memory of Eva
Eva passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, at the remarkable age of 101. Born on August 19, 1924, in Chicago, Illinois, she was the youngest of nine children and carried with her a lifelong spirit of resilience, humor, and love for others.
In the 1940s, Eva moved to Michigan, where she built a life centered on family, friendship, and community. She spent many years living in Bangor before moving to Holland in 2007.
Eva was the proud mother of nine children—five sons and four daughters. She was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Lisa, and her son, Deward. She is lovingly survived by her children Marie, Ronnie, Rick, Keith, Rhonda, Kenny, and Jackie, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and even great-great-great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy, and her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched.
Eva never met a stranger. She loved making people laugh, cracking jokes, and spending time with family and friends. Her warm personality and ability to connect with others made her a beloved presence wherever she went. In her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo and creating beautiful embroidery pieces.
One of the many things that made Eva special was her adventurous spirit. Even at 100 years old, she still wanted to enjoy life to the fullest. A favorite family memory is her motorcycle ride to celebrate her 100th birthday—a perfect reflection of her determination to keep living life on her own terms.
Eva will be remembered for her sense of humor, her strength, her love for people, and the joy she brought to those around her. She will be deeply loved, forever missed, and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day.”
