It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Edward Sniezek, who passed away on March 27, 2026, at the age of 74.
Edward was born on March 14, 1952, to Edward and Theresa Sniezek (Spinelli). He was a devoted husband, father, and man of deep, quiet faith whose strength and steady presence touched all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Tara Sniezek and Susan his beloved wife of over 40 years. His love for his family was constant and unwavering, and he took great pride in the life they built together.
Edward is also survived by his siblings: Catherine Osminski (David, Sr.), Mary Jean Sniezek (Lawrence Kosofsky), James (Pauline), Vernette Richards (James), Joseph (Jacqueline), Lisa Miller (Cameron), and David (Roseanna), his sisters in-law, Cheryl Harper and Pamela King, (Craig). He was preceded in death by his siblings Rose Solensky (Gerald) and Theresa Kendizuk (Richard).
He is further survived by 25 nieces and nephews, 18 great-nieces and great-nephews, and many dear friends from all over the world whose lives he touched.
Edward dedicated 32 years of his career as a pipefitter with Chrysler, where he was known for his hard work, skill, and reliability. He approached both his work and his life with quiet determination and integrity. He also designed and oversaw the building of both of his homes and was known for his remarkable ability to create and fix things, often improving whatever he touched.
Edward also had a remarkable gift for finances. He was keenly focused, excelled in financial matters, and generously offered guidance and advice to family and friends, helping many with his thoughtful insight.
Outside of work, Edward lived life with a sense of adventure and appreciation for the world around him. He enjoyed fishing, downhill skiing across Europe, Canada, and the United States, and completed over 250 scuba dives. His travels took him to all seven continents twice, a rare accomplishment that reflected his love of exploring the world.
The two things that brought him special joy were his time on his pontoon at his “special spot” on Burt Lake and his two, two weeks each year at his favorite resort, the RIU Palace Riviera Maya in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. He insisted on at least two, two week vacations a year of what he called his pure bliss and was always willing to get up before dawn to secure “his spot” overlooking the ocean. He welcomed as many family members and friends as possible to join him at this beautiful resort with its amazing staff for over 20 years.
He loved to travel and experience new places, always embracing the beauty and wonder of each journey.
Those who knew Edward will remember him for his calm strength, gentle spirit, and quite deep faith. He will be forever loved and deeply missed.
A service to honor Edward’s life will be held at a later date.
No flowers please. Those who would like to send remembrance in Ed's name..please become an organ donor or make your donations to St. JUDE HOSPITAL. Thank you.
