Dorm was born May 28th, 1939 to Harold (Chester) and Arvilla (McKinley) Gray in Eaton Rapids, Michigan. He passed away peacefully on September 10th, 2026, in Hastings, Michigan. He worked for the Michigan Department of Transportation for 32 years. After retiring, Dorm spent many hours in his wood shop creating beautiful items or tinkering with his John Deere tractors. One of his proudest accomplishments was being a life-founding member of the Gold Wing Touring Association (GWTA). He and his wife, Ellen of 39 years, enjoyed many miles riding with the club and put two wheels to 46 states.
Dorm is survived by his wife, Ellen; sister Loretta Mallion; son Dorman L. Gray (DeAnn) of Hastings; daughters: Karman Gray (John Lyons) of Middleville, Shelly Fouts (Tom) of South Haven; 5 stepchildren; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Arvilla Gray; sister, Marcella Langford; and brother-in-law Rex Maillon.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life for Dorman will take place on October 10th, 2026 at 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at “The Party Barn” located at 19124 M-43 in Delton, Michigan. Those who wish may make a memorial contribution to “Elara Caring Hospice” or a Hospice of your choice.
