Obituary photo for Barbara Corbett

Barbara Corbett

April 11, 1957 ~ November 3, 2026

Barbara Corbett, 69, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2026, after a remarkable 15-year journey with cancer.

Barbara was a force of nature - fiercely independent, wonderfully stubborn, incredibly funny, and deeply compassionate. She lived life on her own terms, laughed wholeheartedly, and had an extraordinary ability to find joy in the smallest things, even through life's greatest challenges. Her optimism, determination, and larger-than-life personality made her unforgettable to those who knew her.

Throughout her career, Barbara worked as an insurance adjuster and managed pizzerias, where she was especially admired for her leadership and mentorship. She believed in people, saw their potential, and took pride in helping others grow.

Barbara was also a passionate advocate for others. She spent countless hours registering people to vote, encouraging civic participation, and standing up for the rights of marginalized communities. She believed everyone deserved to be heard, respected, and accepted for exactly who they were.

Above all, Barbara loved her family fiercely and unconditionally. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, as well as a trusted friend and confidante. She had a remarkable ability to lift others up, offer strength when it was needed most, and bring laughter into even the hardest moments.

Barbara is survived by her three children, Marie Thomas, Shaye Potts, and Meghan Magana; her grandchildren, Stephanie Chavez, Elizabeth Clement, Mackenzie Clement, Michael Thomas, Damian Soto, CJ Soto, Amiel Garcia-Potts, and Reza Garcia-Potts; and her great-grandchildren, Omenia Rojo, Cami Rojo, Ulysses Corbett, and Octavio Corbett. She is also survived by her five siblings.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rexford and Hallie Corbett.

Barbara spent 15 years defying the odds, but her greatest achievement was never simply how long she lived. It was how fully she lived, how fiercely she loved, and how much joy she gave away for free.

Her legacy lives on in the people she loved, the lives she touched, and the kindness, laughter, and determination she inspired in others.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

In honor of Barbara's memory, her family encourages everyone to register to vote, make their voice heard, and treat others with kindness and dignity.
